The liver’s many responsibilities include blood detoxification, waste removal and bile production to aid digestion making this large gland involved in just about every process in the body. As such, it is very resilient, with the ability to work even during the onset of disease.
So Christmas has come and gone yet another year. The day after Christmas though, is the best time to play with all of the new toys! Whether it’s a fun squeak toy, a yummy chew bone or even a remote control car! Watch this Golden jump around and chase after this speedy car.
Your Golden deserves a yummy Christmas meal as much as you do. Treat your pup to this delightfully special dinner!
What you’ll need:
- 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup cooked plain white rice
- 1 cup cooked plain carrots
- 1 cup non- or low-fat cottage cheese
What to do:
Boil chicken breasts in a small amount of water until done; chop. Cook carrots in a small amount of water until tender but not mushy. Mix both with the cooked rice and cottage cheese. You may want to add some broth from the meat or carrots if it seems too dry. A nice plain meal to get your baby ‘firmed up.’ Keep any leftovers in the fridge.

While you’re preparing snacks for your holiday party guests, take a few minutes to whip up this delicious party snack for your Golden four legged friends.
What you’ll need:
- 2 cups Cheerios Cereal
- 2 cups spoon size shredded wheat cereal
- 2 cups Crispix Cereal
- 1/2 cup Melted butter/margarine
- 2 tb Dry gravy mix
- 1/2 cup Kraft grated American cheese powder
- 1/2 cup Bacon bits
- 1 cup Dog jerky/pupperoni/sausages
What to do:
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. In a 13″ x 9″ dish, pour in melted butter. Stir in cheese powder, bacon bits and gravy mix. Add all cereals and mix well until all pieces are coated. Heat in oven for 45 minutes. Cut dog meat treats into small 1/2″ pieces. Remove cereals from oven and stir in dog meat treats. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.

1 container plain yogurt
1 jar baby food (any meat flavor)
1 large can evaporated milk
1 egg
1 1/2 cups water
What to do:
Blend all ingredients and serve in festive holiday bowls.

What you will need:
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups Bisquick
1/2 cup mint chopped leaves
1/4 cup milk
4 tablespoons margarine
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons corn syrup
What to you’ll need to do:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Combine all ingredients in food processor, process until mixed well.
- Roll out on a floured surface to 1/4 to 1/2 inch thickness.
- Cut with holiday shaped cookie cutters, place on non-stick cookie pan.
- Bake at 375 F for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Cool and store in air-tight container for up to one week.
